Saturday of Service

There are days that cause me to stop and marvel at the ways the Spirit is at work in the church. These are days when I am particularly aware of God’s presence among us, days when I am particularly hopeful, days when I am particularly grateful for the ministry God has called us to do.

Our Saturday of Service on March 22nd was one of these days. Over 130 people came together from our own congregation, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Grace Presbyterian in Jenkintown, New Spirit Community Presbyterian Church, St. John’s Presbyterian Church, and the Southwest Philadelphia community to serve at six sites. Our teams served in various ways - from painting at The Common Place to building garden beds at the Ann Thomas apartments. It was wonderful to see different groups serving together, and I am grateful to those who gave of their time and talents to join us on the 22nd.

If you are looking for an opportunity to serve with us, please join us for our Clean-Up Day at The Common Place on Saturday, April 26th, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will clean and set up the space for our first Common Worship Experience service the following day. Bring gloves, snacks, and a water bottle and meet at 10:00 am at The Common Place (5736 Chester Ave. 19143). Contact me ( with questions or to sign-up!
