Welcome to the Front Page, the digital cover of the Wayne Press.  Here we will share with you things that can't be captured in our newsletter--videos, music, color photographs--as well as articles that reflect on faith and life.

Lent 3.21

Shauna Niequist is a Christian author and blogger.  In her book, Present over Perfect, she says this:

"Years ago, a wise friend told me that no one ever changes until the pain level gets high enough.  That seems entirely true.  The inciting incident for life change is almost always heartbreak- something becomes broken beyond repair, too heave to carry; in the words of the recovery movement, unmanageable."

If repentance is about change, or at least about turning back to God, can we repent before the pain gets too high?  I hope so.  Consider your life right now.  What things do you wish to turn away from so that you may turn towards God in repentance?  Do you have things in your life that have become too heavy to carry or unmanageable?  If so, try to give those to God, or at least show them to God.  We trust in a God for whom nothing is too heavy to bear, nothing is too hard to handle.  God sees us, and regardless of how broken we feel, we are always loved, always redeemed.
