The Front Page

Welcome to the Front Page, the digital cover of the Wayne Press.  Here we will share with you things that can't be captured in our newsletter--videos, music, color photographs--as well as articles that reflect on faith and life.

Dickenson County, Virginia meets Wayne Presbyterian Church

For my blog entry today I wanted to inform you about what the high school youth is doing next week.  For the last 5 years we have been taking a wonderful group of High School youth to fix houses in the Appalachian Mountains.  This year we will be in Southwest Virginia serving in Dickenson County.

 My favorite part of this trip, is seeing the love these youth give to the families they are serving.  The construction is important, but the most important part of the trip is serving the family, and building relationships.   Our theme this year is "Radical Reversal".  Spiritually our focus for the week is humility;

" This is what humility looks like, following Christ into places we would not normally go on our own, giving up worldly power for the chance to experience God’s grace in a new way. "

Please join me in praying for our high school youth as they embark on a journey to the Appalachian Mountains, for a mission trip with the Appalachian Service Project.

We are leaving this Sunday at 6am and returning Saturday July 13th.

We can always use prayer partners for our leaders and our youth who are serving this week.  If you would like to be one of our prayer partners, please email Andrew Hostetter ( ahostetter@waynepres.org ).

Also, while in Virginia we will have a daily blog, weather permitting, that will be updated everyday.  If you would like to experience a little bit of what our youth are  experiencing this week, we would encourage you follow our Youth blog.
