Day 27, Lent

A friend shared this prayer with me.  I love how it re-frames the idea of fasting and invites us to feast on things that God desires.  I hope that as you are fasting this Lent, you are also feasting on God's grace.

A Prayer from Lent from The Anglican Digest
 Lord, help me to
Fast from judging others and feast on Christ dwelling in them;
Fast from fear of illness and feast on the healing power of God;
Fast from words that pollute and feast on the speech that purifies;
Fast from discontent and feast on gratitude;
Fast from anger and feast on patience;
Fast from pessimism and feast on optimism;
Fast from negatives and feast on alternatives;
Fast from bitterness and feast on forgiveness;
Fast from self-concern and feast on compassion;
Fast from suspicion and feast on truth;
Fast from gossip and feast on purposeful silence;
Fast from problems that overwhelm and feast on prayer that sustains;
Fast from worry and feast on faith.
Make these words more than words and give me the Spirit of Jesus.

Peace, friends,
