Welcome to the Front Page, the digital cover of the Wayne Press.  Here we will share with you things that can't be captured in our newsletter--videos, music, color photographs--as well as articles that reflect on faith and life.

Day 18, Advent

Read these words from Luke 2 and then consider the questions and actions listed below.  This devotion is taken from A Sanctified Art (who create some really awesome stuff).

In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Mary had to give birth in an animal's shed becasue they were traveling with nowhere to sleep.  Where were you born?  What is yoru birth story?

Make a "hygiene kit" for somoene who is experiencing homelessness.  Fill a ziploc bag with travel-size toiletried such as shampoo, deodorant, lotion, chapstick, etc.  Once you have prepared your kit, donate it to your local homeless shelter.  (If this resonates with you, you can bring these kits to church and we'll give them to a local mission partner).
