Lent 3.19, Third Sunday in Lent

Today is the third Sunday in Lent.  At WPC, it's also Common Place Sunday!  Hope you can join us for worship.  Aisha Brooks-Lytle will be preaching on this passage from Exodus. Exodus 17:1-7 From the wilderness of Sin the whole congregation of the Israelites journeyed by stages, as the Lord commanded. Lent 3.18

I love this poem by Mother Theresa.  It has been with me for some time now and I return to it over and over as a reminder, or when I need a dose of hope, or moment of clarity.  I hope you enjoy it to and that it walks witn you in this Lenten season.    St. Theresa's Prayer May today there be peace within.   May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Lent 3.17

I love you, O Lord my strength. The Lord is my rock,  my fortress and... Read More

Lent 3.15

Katie McNabb is well known among our community of faith.  She has her own blog where she writes about faith.  In this post, she writes around the question, "Does it matter what we pray for?"  Here are her words of wisdom:   Does it matter what we pray for? by Katie McNabb Do I have a right to ask something of God when I already enjoy so many blessings? Am I somehow becoming greedy when I pray for something for myself? Isn’t it silly to request... Read More

Lent 3.14

As we continue to ponder prayer, I hope you enjoy this little video.  It uses the book,  The Lord's Prayer,  illustrated by Ted Ladwig.  It's a great book and the song that goes with this video is also lovely.  Enjoy, and pray along.  Peace, Laurie Read More
