Communion Revisited

I had the pleasure of getting to be at the first Common Worship Experience last night.  There were many things I liked about it, but one of the things that stood out most to me was Communion.  Communion is probably my favorite Christian ritual.  It tends to look a little different in each setting, which can emphasize different aspects of Communion.  You may or may not be aware of this, but Communion is RICH in meaning.  Pretty much every action made, and every word... A Perfect Record

Our softball team has a perfect record!  They are 1-0 after a decisive victory yesterday.  At our new member class yesterday, one of the new members asked, "How would you suggest someone like me get involved around here?"  Casey and I both paused for a second as we went through the list of incredible things to do around here.  I suggested Second Saturday Dinner Clubs.  Casey suggested the choir or one of our awesome music groups.  I then thought of teaching adult... Epic Truth

A few weekends ago, Andrew and I took a few youth to a conference outside of New York City called, “Acquire the Fire.”  We decided to embark on this journey because last year I took a large group of girls to the Revolve Tour in Philadelphia, and sadly we were informed, that the Revolve Tour only occurs every other year.  Growing up in youth group, we went to many conferences, and I can remember what it felt like to have thousands of youth my age raising their hands to praise... The Common Worship Experience #kidled #pastorapproved

Worship at The Common Place For the past few months, Sudie and I have been working with students from Cornerstone Christian Academy to develop a worship leadership team for a new worship service at the The Common Place called “The Common Worship Experience”. We talked to the kids about the general order of a worship service and the importance of leading God’s people in worship and pointing them to the truth we find in Christ. We spent our first few sessions discussing the things we enjoy... Read More

My Holy Week Playlist

This past weekend, I was with a half dozen youth at the Acquire the Fire youth conference.  It basically was a day and a half of heart-felt worship, dynamic speakers, and engaging skits.  It really was an amazing experience, which I hope to do again next year with some youth. This experience really got me thinking about the power in worship.  On Saturday night, I had the most moving worship experience of my life.  We were in a big stadium in NJ, with thousands of other... Saturday of Service

There are days that cause me to stop and marvel at the ways the Spirit is at work in the church. These are days when I am particularly aware of God’s presence among us, days when I am particularly hopeful, days when I am particularly grateful for the ministry God has called us to do.   Our Saturday of Service on March 22nd was one of these days. Over 130 people came together from our own congregation, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Grace Presbyterian in Jenkintown, New... Read More
