Church Orchestra | Wayne Oratorio Society | Concerts | Music Home Students in grade 6 through 12 should sing in Westminster Choir, the Youth Choir of Wayne Presbyterian Church. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights, 6:30 to 7:30 pm starting September 9, 2009, make-up rehearsals on Sunday nights, 5 to 5:50 pm before ROCK & DOOR (Youth Fellowship) for those who cannot attend Wednesday starting September 13, 2009. Westminster Choir is directed by Tim Evers. Westminster Choir Tour Our Westminster Choir (youth grades 6 to 12) traveled April 9 - 11, 2010 for a weekend choir tour to New York City and Princeton. They toured and sang at the Princeton University Chapel and performed a concert for the residents of the Meadow Lakes Retirement Community, a Presbyterian community in Hightstown, New Jersey. They also experienced the "vertical" tour at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City (the largest cathedral in the world) and a performance by The Blue Man Group. They concluded their weekend by leading worship at First Presbyterian Church in Queens.
Westminster Choir Performed in Members of the Westminster Choir sang in the "YouthCUE" Choir Festival and "One World, Many Voices" concert June 24 to 29, 2009. They were Cody Clouser, Kirstin Clouser, Melissa Craine, Kelsey De Angelis, Molly Girard, Taylor Mordy, & Jason Swift. Adults: Lynn Clouser & Tim Evers. The concert effort raised three months operating funds for CERI (Children's Emergency Relief International) and one year sponsorships of 136 children orphaned in the 2004 tsunami that struck Sri Lanka. The trip also included performances in city cathedrals and a retirement community, mission work at the host church, as well as visiting the Alamo, Riverwalk and the Schlitterbahn Waterpark, voted the World's Best Waterpark for the past ten years. |
