The seventy voice Chancel Choir is honored to lead weekly Sunday morning worship. The choir is open to adults (church membership is not necessary).
There are no auditions for the choir but some ability to read
music is helpful. Consider yourself qualified if you've ever sung in a choir before or taken any
music lessons.
Singing in a choir is a powerful tool toward a more significant relationship with God, and through worship, a gateway to deeper understanding. For a YouTube clip about the benefits of choral singing from CBS News by Charles Osgood, click here.
The choir rehearses
Thursdays at 7:30 pm, September through May under the direction of
Jeff Fowler.
Additionally, the Chancel Choir performs three or four major works accompanied by
full orchestra annually in concert with the Wayne Oratorio Society.
Each choral section of the Chancel Choir is supported by a professional singer.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The choir prepares for Sunday worship in the first hour, and rehearses the oratorio in the second hour after a break.
